Secondary Campus Weekly Update 21 Sep 2026

Dear Parents,

As the Mid-Autumn Festival approaches, we look forward to celebrating this special season together on campus, alongside our House mooncake collection to support local elderly residents.

It is a busy and exciting week across our school community. We are officially launching our Extra-Curricular Activities (ECAs), concluding interviews for the 2026/27 Student Leadership Council, and hosting our "The Year Ahead" parent evenings for Years 8 and 11. We are also delighted to welcome our new colleagues—Adam Nordsvan (Computer Science), Boris Le Feuvre (MFL), and Rachel Longbottom (Inclusion Team)—who have already settled in wonderfully.

House Mooncake Collection – Dr. Curley

With the Mid-Autumn Festival just around the corner, we are delighted to be collecting mooncakes for residents at a local elderly home. This year’s collection is linked to building team spirit amongst our Houses and collection boxes for each House can be found at the Reception area of the Kwun Tong campus. As always, thank you for your very generous donations in advance.

Introducing Our New Teachers:

Adam Nordsvan – Computer Science Teacher

G'day! I am very happy to join the Nord Anglia community as a Computing teacher, working with students from Year 7 to Year 10 and as Form Tutor for 8C.

Originally from Australia, I came to teaching by a slightly unusual route. After completing a PhD in earth science, I spent over five years as a Research Assistant Professor at the University of Hong Kong, using programming and computer models to understand how our planet works. Along the way, I discovered that my favourite part of the job was helping others make sense of complex ideas, so I completed my PGCE in Computing and made the move into the classroom.

I am passionate about showing students that computing is a creative tool for solving real-world problems, not just something that happens on a screen. Outside of school, you'll usually find me out on my bike, exploring Hong Kong.

I look forward to working with your children and helping them grow into confident, curious, and capable digital citizens.

Boris Le Feuvre – MFL Teacher

Bonjour and a warm welcome! I am delighted to join the Nord Anglia community as a French and Spanish teacher.

Originally from the French Alps (where my skiing was initially far superior to my English) I moved to the UK for university, completing my teacher training in Leeds. I then spent seven fantastic years teaching in London, where I quickly mastered the art of explaining complex grammar rules while hunting down whiteboard markers that mysteriously kept vanishing!

Driven by a love for travel and new cultures, my teaching journey next took me to Spain for two vibrant years, before I finally arrived in my dream destination here in Hong Kong, where I have been living and teaching for the past four years.

I am immensely excited to inspire a passion for languages in my students - helping them thrive, reach their full potential and develop the global mindset needed to step confidently out into the world.

Rachel Longbottom – Inclusion Team

I am delighted to join the Nord Anglia School community as a member of the Inclusion Team. I began my career in the UK, studying English Literature at the University of Sheffield before completing my PGCE at the University of Nottingham, later gaining the National SENDCo Award through Edge Hill University. Over the past ten years, I have worked as both a teacher and Special Educational Needs Coordinator, as well as contributing to a citywide inclusion team focused on enhancing SEND provision across schools. This role enabled me to support students in achieving success both academically and personally.

As a literature graduate, I am passionate about the power of storytelling to build confidence, creativity, and connection. Outside of school, I am a proud mother of two daughters. I am excited to join such an inclusive and internationally minded community and look forward to supporting every learner to achieve their potential.

Enrichment/ECAs – Mr. Rogers

ECAs Starting This Week

We are pleased to share that our Extra-Curricular Activities (ECAs) will begin this week, Monday 21st September, and will run until Friday 20th November.
Please check your email for your child’s ECA allocation details.

If you have signed your child up for an ECA with one of our fantastic external providers, please ensure that payment has been completed using the payment link that was sent to you. If you have not received the email containing the payment link, please contact us at SecondaryEnrichment@nais.hk and we will be happy to assist.

Please also note that each external ECA provider has their own refund and cancellation policy. Their contact details have been provided should you need to get in touch with them directly regarding any queries. We are looking forward to another exciting term of enrichment opportunities and seeing our students get involved in a wide range of activities.

Key Sports Dates – Miss. Wiltshire

NAIS HK Knights Sports Team Trials

Trials for our U12 and U14 NAIS HK Knights sports teams will take place at lunchtime from 28th–30th September and 7th October.

Students interested in representing the school in netball, badminton or volleyball are encouraged to sign up and take part.

Trial schedule:

All trials will take place during lunchtime, so students should bring a packed lunch on their trial day.

Students should sign up at the PE Office to register their interest and attendance.

We look forward to seeing our Knights get involved and represent NAIS HK!

FOBISIA Swimming Trials

Our FOBISIA Swimming Trials will take place on Tuesday 22nd September, from 3.15pm–4.45pm, at the school swimming pool.

Trials are for registered students only who have already signed up for the competition.

Students should bring their swim kit, swim hat and goggles with them on the day and come directly to the swimming pool at 3.15pm, so that trials can begin as promptly as possible.

Good luck to all our swimmers taking part!

ASG Hong Kong Youth Badminton Elite Cup 2026 – Season 3

We are pleased to invite our students to participate in the upcoming ASG Hong Kong Youth Badminton Elite Cup 2026 (Season 3), taking place at our NAIS Kwun Tong Campus over the Christmas holidays!

• Date: 25 to 28 December 2026 (Friday to Monday)
• Time: 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
• Venue: Nord Anglia International School Hong Kong (Kwun Tong), 19 Yuet Wah Street
• Eligibility: Boys and girls born in 2010 or later (8 age divisions from Mini Stars to Opens)
• Format: Round-robin group stage followed by knockout rounds (Single-set matches)
• Early Bird Offer: Available until 30 November 2026 (HKD $398 / player; standard HKD $468)

Student Leadership Updates – Miss. Kwong/Miss. Teh

We are pleased to share that interviews for the 2026/27 Student Leadership Council have now concluded. Over the past week, candidates across both the Kwun Tong and Hung Hom campuses took part in interviews for Committee Leader positions, and we were impressed by their thoughtful ideas, enthusiasm, and commitment to serving our school community. Results will be released this week, and all applicants will be notified accordingly. We thank students for their patience and parents for their continued encouragement as we finalise this year’s Student Leadership Council.
