Mermaid Swimming Experience with MOP Hong Kong

Our recent Mermaid Swimming Experience with Mermaid Ocean Palace Hong Kong was a truly unforgettable enrichment opportunity for our primary students. Combining aquatic skill development, creativity, confidence building and teamwork, the session provided an exciting and unique learning experience beyond the traditional curriculum.

Led by experienced instructors, including former Hong Kong Artistic Swimming Team athletes, students were introduced to the grace, technique and athleticism required to move confidently through the water as mermaids. Throughout the session, participants demonstrated excellent determination, resilience and enthusiasm as they learned new skills and challenged themselves in a supportive environment.

The experience was about much more than swimming. Students developed self-confidence, communication skills, and a positive mindset while celebrating the joy of movement in the water. It was wonderful to see children encouraging one another, stepping outside their comfort zones, and embracing new opportunities with such excitement and maturity.

Supporting Our Social Impact Gold Award Journey

The Mermaid Swimming programme aligns closely with our commitment to the Social Impact Gold Award, which celebrates participation, personal growth, wellbeing and meaningful experiences beyond the classroom. Through this enrichment opportunity, students were encouraged to develop confidence, perseverance, inclusivity and a lifelong appreciation for physical activity.

Experiences such as these help broaden horizons and create memorable moments that contribute to our wider goal of nurturing well-rounded, globally minded learners. The enthusiasm shown by participants demonstrated how enrichment opportunities can inspire students to discover new passions and talents while strengthening our school community.

Looking Ahead

Following the overwhelming interest and positive feedback from students, we are delighted to continue expanding our enrichment programme throughout October with a range of exciting opportunities designed to promote physical wellbeing, creativity, and personal growth.

We extend our sincere thanks to MOP Hong Kong and their outstanding coaching team for delivering such a professional, engaging and inspiring experience. The smiles, confidence and sense of achievement shown by our students were a testament to the quality of the programme.

We look forward to building on this success and providing even more unique experiences that encourage every child to Explore, Challenge and Grow through sport, enrichment and social impact initiatives.

U14 Girls Volleyball

The NAISHK U14 Girls Volleyball Team finished the season on a high after competing against AISHK (14–25, 19–25) and then securing a fantastic 2–0 victory over RCHK (25–22, 25–12). It was a brilliant team performance, highlighted by Ayla’s strong blocking at the net, excellent serving from Katelyn and Ellen, and outstanding defence from Ayumi, Ranae, and Ayah. The girls showed great determination, teamwork, and resilience throughout both matches, making it the perfect way to end the season. Every player contributed to the result, supporting one another and playing with confidence from start to finish. The energy and positivity on the court were outstanding all day. Congratulations to the U14 girls on a great season and a memorable final match! πŸπŸŽ‰

U14 Girls Football

On another hot and sunny afternoon, the U14 girls football team faced league leaders Stamford American School.

After two recent draws and a desire to qualify for the finals, a win was needed.
In a frenzied start our team was leading 3-0 within the first 10 minutes with Alicia continuing with her shoot on sight policy and beating the goalkeeper from distance.
The score became 4-0 on the stroke of half time.

A more competitive second half saw both teams with fewer chances on goal and Stamford scored with their first shot on target - a nicely placed free kick from outside the area. Both teams worked hard in the afternoon sun with many of our players rotating positions as teammates took a break from the heat.

A final score of 4-1 against the team currently top sends a strong message to the other teams for the remaining weeks of the season!

U14 Girls Football: NAIS HK Knights vs ICHK β€” 1-1 Draw

The NAIS HK Knights battled to a hard-fought 1-1 draw against ICHK in a match that was intense from start to finish.

The Knights opened the scoring in spectacular fashion, with Alicia unleashing an absolute screamer from long range that left the keeper with no chance. Buoyed by the goal, NAIS HK pressed relentlessly and were desperately unlucky not to be further ahead by half time.

After the break, the heat and ICHK's sustained pressure began to tell. The Knights dug deep, but ICHK finally broke through late on to deny NAIS HK a well-earned victory.

A gutsy team performance full of heart, the Knights can hold their heads high.

U16 Girls Volleyball

The U16 Girls Volleyball team delivered an outstanding performance this evening, securing convincing 2-0 victories in both of their matches.

On the court, the team’s communication grew stronger with every game, while their consistently powerful serving and spiking proved to be major assets throughout the event.

The final set of the evening was a true test of characterβ€”coming right down to the wireβ€”and the players showed remarkable determination, resilience, and composure under pressure.

Beyond their technical achievements, the girls represented the team with exceptional sportsmanship throughout. Congratulations to all the players on a fantastic effort!

U16 Boys Volleyball

The U16 Boys Volleyball team approached match day with a positive mindset and nothing to lose. Despite facing strong opposition, the boys competed well in both matches. The pattern of each game was very similar: they narrowly lost the opening set after some closely contested volleyball but were unable to maintain that momentum in the second set, where the opposition proved too strong.

Although the results did not go their way, with the team losing both matches 2–0, the players should be commended for their attitude throughout the day. They remained positive, supported one another, and displayed excellent behaviour and body language from start to finish. Most importantly, the boys finished the day with smiles on their faces, showing resilience and a great team spirit despite the disappointing results.

The team can take pride in their effort, sportsmanship, and positive approach, which will provide a strong foundation for future matches.

ISSFHK Swim Mini Meet

Our swim squad had an exciting and positive afternoon at the ISSFHK Swim Mini Meet on Wednesday. The event provided a fantastic opportunity for swimmers to race confidently, showcase their skills, and earn their places for the Division Championships in January.

It was great to see the team’s motivation, determination, and team spirit throughout the meet. Well done to all swimmers for their effort and focusβ€”this was a strong performance and a great step towards what’s coming next.
