At NAS Dubai, we’re always looking for ways to enhance our students’ experience, not just academically, but as individuals ready to take on the world with confidence, independence and resilience.
Think: cooking a simple meal, learning basic First Aid, managing time and budgets, tackling household tasks, or heading out for a fitness challenge. These aren’t just fun activities, they’re steps toward greater independence, self-belief and a growth mindset.
Each year group will take on a tailored set of challenges, carefully matched to their developmental stage. There are over 140 activities connected to life skills, culture, and sustainability, and once your child completes 10 out of 14 challenges, they’ll receive a certificate and badge to mark their achievement! As students move through the programme from our Silver Mini Dukes in Year 1 to our Platinum Junior Dukes in Year 6, the activities evolve, offering a true sense of progression and personal growth.
But this award is about more than just the challenges. It’s about the mindset it encourages: the joy of trying something new, the satisfaction of seeing a task through, and the confidence that comes with meaningful
achievement. It’s about giving children the tools to thrive not just in school, but in life.
We’re especially excited about how this award brings our community together. There are opportunities for parent involvement, school-wide competitions, and even participation in the Junior Duke World Championships, connecting our students with peers across the globe who are on the same journey.
At NAS Dubai, we talk a lot about nurturing the whole child, and this is exactly what the Junior Duke is all about. It’s another step in our mission to create a school environment where every child is encouraged to grow not only as a learner but as a curious, capable, and compassionate individual.
