Last week’s Sports Days were action packed and full of fun for the children, parents and staff.

On last Tuesday, our youngest students from Early Years had an amazing time with children and parents alike engaged in messy play with shaving foam, paint, jelly and slime; they got soaked on the giant slip and slide; they played ball games, ran races, took on the obstacle course; and watched huge ice blocks slowly melt to reveal dinosaurs and rocks within. It was difficult to tell who was having more fun...the children or the parents. One thing for sure, every person in our NIS EY community had a smile that stretched from ear to ear (and maybe a little mess to accompany it).

Wednesday came the turn of the primary children where they were challenged to put their athletic skills to the test. Children rotated round a carousel of athletic tasks including, sprints, hurdles, middle distance, javelin, shot putt and long jump. Children won ribbons for their individual achievements and house points for their team with the overall winners being the Orange Team taking the Sports Day Cup 2018. The day ended on a high with a team obstacle course which required great skill and team working and the willingness to get rather wet on the slip & slide to finish the course!

Well done to all the students and thanks to staff and parents for your involvement and support. A great community event within our international school in Jakarta!
