Bagpipe Welcome at NIS Jakarta! The children and adults got a fabulous start to their morning as they were piped into school by Ross OC Jennings the record breaking, globe-trotting bagpiper

Here at NIS, the children and adults got a fabulous start to Monday morning (19 November) as they were piped into school by Ross OC Jennings the record breaking, globe-trotting bagpiper.

Ross ran a series of assemblies and workshops with the children, playing his bagpipes and also talking about his amazing adventures on his epic journey to create a world record for playing his bagpipes in as many countries as possible. The children were fascinated to hear that he has already visited 85 countries and to see photos of him playing his bagpipes in some very remote and exotic places. The highlight, however, was when some of the students shared their hand-made instruments with Ross and had a jamming session. Who would have thought that ‘Scotland The Brave’ could sound so good being played on DIY guitars, drums, pipes and percussion instruments. We look forward to following Ross’s travels around the world and are delighted to be part of his world record attempt. (To find out more please head over to The First Piper)
