Battle of Books

01 december 2016

The Chinese Department has recently launched the Battle of Books Project. It is designed to encourage native Chinese-speaking students in Years 7-9 to develop and improve their proficiency in the reading of authentic texts This challenge is worldwide and will be between the schools in Nord Anglia Education.

  • Battle of Books

The project was first introduced to students in October 2016 and will last for a whole school year.

Each year group in KS3 will finish three books in the school year and the activities based on the book will be posted on the Nord Anglia Education internal Moodle page where, there is a specific area for the Battle of Books 2016-2017. The activity for Book 1 will finish on January 26  Thursday,  2017.

Below are some thoughts from our students about the challenge:

“I think Battle of Books will help us improve reading ability and challenge ourselves with others, we will be able to improve our standard of Chinese and improve our learning ability at the same time. ” (Lim Xuan hui)

“I think Battle of Books is very interesting because we will learn more and share our reading experience with the students from other Nord Anglia Education schools.  ” (Lim Hong yi )

“I think Battle of Books is very important because it gives us an opportunity to share our knowledge with other schools” (Tang Bai hua )

“This activity will  help us develop reading skills and understand the importance of reading. Students will also be able to express their opinions to other students” (Liu Zhe yan)
