This is an extremely prestigious Mathematics competition, where the best Mathematicians in Asia compete to find out who is the best individually, and which school has the best team.
This year, 29 of the top British schools in Asia competed in the competition. It was a fantastic competition with questions which challenged children to apply their knowledge, solve logic and spatial problems, and then show great team work, inventiveness and creativity to create a construction.
The four children who were chosen to represent our school were Gabriel Treneman, Liam Chan, Emma Tang and Nada Ajarti.
Our Mathematics team tackled every round with confidence and worked as a team to be the most consistent team in the competition.
Nada Ajarti from 6B: I really enjoyed the FOBISIA Maths Challenge because the challenges were lots of fun, especially when we got to work with lots of different children.
Gabriel Treneman from 6S: I thoroughly enjoyed the FOBISIA Primary Maths Challenge because the challenges were unique and interesting, and required our team to push ourselves to the limits and apply all areas of our maths knowledge.
Emma Tang from 6B: My favourite part of this year’s competition has been working with other teams and different people.
Liam Chan from 6B: My favourite part of the FOBISIA Maths Challenge was working with other teams and doing the logic warm-up exercise.
A tremendous achievement and it was a privilege to lead the team.
