Year 3 & 5 Art Exhibition

14 maart 2017

This week parents and children from across the school were given the opportunity to come and view a piece of artwork from children in Years 3 & 5.  Each child has chosen a piece of work that they are particularly proud of from Term 2.

The Year 3 artwork was linked to their topic this term ‘Paintings, Pictures and Photographs’. During this topic, children were given the opportunity to learn about different artists such as Hockney, Klee and Seurat. They were encouraged to see the world through the eyes of artists and use different mediums such as digital software, paint, chalks and pastels.

The Year 5 artwork was linked to their ‘Silk Road’ topic. The children learnt the art of silk painting and produced beautiful, intricate pieces of work. They looked at various Chinese landscapes, animals and scenes from nature to inspire their designs.

Their artwork looks fantastic and there has been a lot of positive feedback from parents and children alike. You can view the artwork in the ground floor of the primary building if you haven’t had the opportunity to do so yet. We hope you are as impressed as we are!
