On behalf of the children and their parents, Mrs Sun Hua, the founder of the organisation, would like to express her heartfelt gratitude for this generous donation of 12,500 RMB. The Centre plans to spend the funds given providing sensory experiences (indoor and outdoor equipment) to the children. They are also planning to build a garden.
In addition to this the Chatterbox Café donated a month’s takings from the Café and these will go towards providing new beds and study areas for the staff at the Centre.
As a non-profit non-governmental organisation, the Huaxin Centre provides therapy, rehabilitation and special education to children with autism, cerebral palsy (dyskinesia/spasticity), mental disability and other disorders of the
central nervous system Founded in 2004, the therapy centre works to improve the lives of disabled children and their entire families by giving them physical, emotional and social support.
Current projects with BISS include fundraising activities and building a “Sensory Garden” environment for the Huaxin children. As part of this Global challenge project, school is offering ongoing events throughout the year for Huaxin kids and their parents, applying a sustainable approach in their community support.
In line with government plans and encouragement to expand China´s medical infrastructure, the Huaxin Rehabilitation Centre will be helping to build up the rehabilitation industry in weaker-developed city areas such as Qingpu and Jiashan etc. further over the next few years.
