Week Beginning 18 January 2016

On Friday 22 January we will be having a pyjama day! Please send your child to school wearing their favourite pair of pyjamas. We also would love to have your child bring in their favourite doll or stuffed animal so we can practise our nightly routines with them. Please label everything!

MESSAGES

  • Please remember to ensure that your child’s water bottle and snack box are labelled, as well as any new coats or jackets they may have, this helps us very much when items do occasionally go astray.
  • Dental Screening will take place on Monday and Tuesday.
  • There will be a Korean Coffee Morning on Wednesday from 9.00am to 11am.

LEARNING THEME

This week we will continue to focus on “Day and Night”.  We will look at nocturnal animal such as owls and bats that mostly make their appearances at night.   The students will compare their appearances and behaviours to those animals which are awake during the day.  The children will listen to a collection of night and day sounds to compare and contrast the noises that they hear.  The class will review their night time routines when they bring in their doll or stuffed animal on Friday, and compare the similarities between night time and morning routines.

Expressive Arts and Design

This week we will be creating many wonderful projects, including large classroom collages.  These collages will use materials of various sizes, colours, and textures.  The students describe the textures of the various resources used in their collage.  They will also be encouraged to do purposeful construction, describing where they want to place each material, and why it would fit in that location.  We look forward to seeing all the different projects they create!

DUTCH

Deze week hebben we het over wat we eten voor ontbijt, middagmaal en avondmaal.   Wateet jij `s ochtends voor je naar school gaat?  Wat biedt de schoollunch vandaag?  Welke lekkere dingen heeft mama vandaag in jouw snackbox gestopt?

Jules  lust `s ochtends wel een eitje en leert ons het liedje `Eitje Ontbijtje`.

MANDARIN

We continue to learn the topic of “Day and Night” and some typical animals at night and day for extra learning.

For the familiar with the day and night, students can recognize the differences of the day and night.
