Next year: As the end of year is approaching we are already beginning planning for the new classes next year. However, this is a long and complicated process. Please be aware that information about new classes and teachers will not be available for several weeks, but we do aim to be able to share this with you before the end of term. We aim to provide stability in moving complete classes to the next year group whenever possible. When classes have to be altered we use our detailed knowledge of the children and consider carefully friendships, gender and nationality. As decisions are based on the number of children in each year group, please help us by confirming your intentions for next year to firstname.lastname@example.org , if you have not already done so. - This week is Science Week. The children will be taking part in a variety of Science bases activities that will also link to our Literacy work.
LITERACY AND SCIENCE WEEK
This week the children will take part in a variety of Science investigations. They will be testing the freezing and boiling points of different liquids. They will make predicitions about what they think will happen and will then record and analyse the findings.
The children will also study the life of Professor Stephen Hawking. This will link into our space topic, looking at his theories of black holes. The children will research different areas to build up a class project of this famous scientist.
Children will also make rockets and will investigate how different variables in the design and structure of the rocket affects flight efficiency and speed. It promises to be a series of exciting experience for all!
In Maths this week we will be continuing to revise work that has been taught this term. The children will cover a range of topics including decimals, percentages, calculating perimeter and area. We will also focus on translating and reflecting shapes on a grid and naming and labelling the properties of shapes. The children will also collect, interpret and present data in a variety of forms using tables, venn diagrams, line graphs and bar charts.

De redactie is uitgeput, maar voldaan na het afronden van de artikelen voor het SDS Nieuwsblad en het opnemen van het SDS Nieuws. De resultaten volgen spoedig (de twee oudste redactieleden zetten de krant in elkaar en monteren het nieuws).
Stel je voor... je moeder zit in de gevangenis, maar je weet zeker dat ze onschuldig is. De gevangenis staat op een streng bewaakt eilandje in de Waddenzee. En aan je vader heb je niks, want die zit van de stress de hele dag te gamen. Wat doe je dan?
Dan bedenk je een onwaarschijnlijk reddingsplan!
Het laatste thema gaat over superhelden. Niet alleen die van de tv, met capes en superkrachten, maar juist de helden onder ons. Wat maakt jou een held? Ken je een held in de familie? Hoe kun je een held worden?
Bi(e)bbezoek en Estafette
Denk aan het meenemen van de bi(e)bboeken op maandag (Year 3, 5 en 6) en dinsdag (Year 4). Estafette doen we op maandag (Year 3, 5 en 6) en donderdag (Year 4).
