Week Beginning 9 April 2018

We hope you all have a good holiday and we look forward to welcoming you back on Monday 9th April.

MESSAGES

  • Reminder, clothing for warm weather: As the weather is changing, and the warmer days are coming, we want t make sure that the children are prepared to stay safe for outdoor play. Please ensure that your child brings a named sun hat and that you apply sun cream before they leave home in the morning.
  • PE clothes: we are so pleased that the children are taking more responsibility for their clothes and changing, which is an important part of the lesson. Therefore, please remember to send your child’s PE kit in a bag, rather than dressing your child for PE at home. 
  • The 22nd April 2018 is World Earth Day. At BISS Puxi we will be holding an earth week, commencing Monday 23rd April 2018. The week will begin with an ‘Air Aware Day’ including assemblies for children and talks for parents. In support of the WWF’s work in this field, pupils are being asked to attend school on Wednesday 25th April dressed as their adopted animal (Asian Elephant or Orangutan) and pay 20RMB which will be donated to the organisation in support of their work. 

LITERACY: Reading

We are excited to listen to stories about the children’s holidays and will be working together to share the news of what you got up to. We will practise reading key words within sentences and will be encouraging the children to use their phonics knowledge to read more around the classroom independently and with friends.

We will be using materials, natural objects, colours and shapes to make different patterns in the classroom and outside. We will work together to describe what the pattern is, and explain to others how it will continue.

EXPRESSIVE ARTS AND DESIGN: Music and Dance

Once we have made our created our own patterns, we will move to make patterns in other ways- with rhythm, music and dance. We will assign different moves to different shapes, different instruments to various dances and will also learn how to combine movements to form a dance.

DUTCH

Deze week ronden we ons dinothema af.  We maken een nest voor de dino-eieren en helpen de dino-baby`s uit de eieren te breken.  Welke dino`s eten planten?  Welke dino`s eten vlees?  We ordenen alle dinosaurussen en creëren onze eigen dinoverhalen op video.
