MESSAGES

  • HANDWRITING: We have sent home Handwriting homework this week. We will continue every week so children can consolidate this at home.
  • TRIP: The children thoroughly enjoyed our trip to Carrefour followed by making their healthy meals. Thank you for all your support in ensuring this was an enjoyable experience for them.
  • PHONICS:  This week we will start Read Write Inc Phonics. The children will be in groups and will have a session every day. Further information will follow.

LITERACY

Our focus will be on narrative writing. We will continue reading ‘Fables’ and create story maps to match the story.

They will write their own fable based on one of the fables they have read. We will review punctuation with a focus on full stops and ensuring they include capital letters correctly in their sentences too.

MATHS

Children will learn about volume this week. We will learn to choose and use appropriate standard units to estimate and measure volume. Children will learn to read scales accurately and use measuring cylinders to measure the volume of liquid these will hold. Children will learn the vocabulary associated with volume and learn to recognize these words when solving problems in Maths.

STEAM THEME

As part of this term’s theme ‘We Are What We Eat” children will explore the differences and similarities with the work of Guiseppe Arcimboldo. They will complete observational drawings of fruit both singular and in a bunch or a plate of fruit - explore using charcoal for drawing, as well as chalk, pencil and sketching pencils.  They will explain which they prefer to use and give reasons why.

PSHCE

Our new PSHCE / Well-being program has begun.  This week we are continuing with our first core value collaboration.  The focus will be on how to form good friendships and how to be a good friend. Students will engage in practical activities that will support them in developing these fundamental skills.

DUTCH

De kinderen van year 2 gaan deze week op stap met het dierentuinorkest.  Kan jij het ontbrekende woord in het raadgedicht vinden?  Welke geluiden hoor jij in het dierentuinorkest?  We zetten alle geluiden op papier en maken er een muzikaal klankgedicht mee!

In de week van 29 januari tot en met 3 februari besteden we extra aandacht aan voorlezen naar aanleiding van de Nationale Voorleesdagen?  Komt u graag ook een keertje voorlezen in de klas?  Graag een mailtje naar c-borger@bisspuxi.com.  Breng uw favoriete (prenten)boek mee of kies een boek uit onze geweldig schoolbieb!

下周我们将学习课文《小乌鸦爱妈妈》,同学们能在语言环境中正确认读 “乌鸦、爱、妈、虫、可、忘记”8个生字,认识部首“心字底”。能在老师的指导下正确临摹“忘、可、记”。 能正确朗读儿歌,不加字、不漏字、字字过目;能根据提示,展开想象,用一、两句话说说小乌鸦案件妈妈躺在家里飞不动了之后的想法。 在朗读的过程中体会小乌鸦对妈妈的爱, 从中受到爱的教育, 懂得要有爱心。
