Year 5 Leader and Global Campus Coordinator
Andrew qualified from Cardiff University in 2003 with a degree in Computer Science. He relocated to China and taught English as a foreign language for two and a half years at a prestigious Chinese boarding school. Andrew returned to the UK in 2007 to study for his PGCE at UWIC University. When teaching in the UK, he also held the positions of ICT Coordinator and Key Stage 2 Leader. In 2011, he joined BISS Puxi and in his time here, he has been the Maths Lead and Global Campus Coordinator.

Year 5 Teacher
Matthew studied for four years at the University of Bedfordshire where he gained a BA (Hons) in Primary Education. After graduating, he worked in Bedford, England, pursuing a career in primary teaching with a keen interest in developing scientific skills and inquiry along with helping children become independent learners across all subjects.
Anna was born in Sweden and graduated from the University of Gothenburg, in 2008. She holds a degree as a Master of Science with a major in Education, specialising in Educational Leadership. During the course of her education, she spent one term as an exchange student with a scholarship at Warwick University in the UK.
Having achieved a BA Honours in English and History at Manchester Metropolitan University, Michael embarked upon a career in teaching and in 2006, completed his Postgraduate Certificate in Education, in London. He then taught Year 3 and Year 5 classes there before deciding to apply his love for teaching in an international setting.
Shnell was born and raised on the tiny Caribbean island of St. Lucia. She came with her family to England in 1993 and after a number of years of primary and secondary education, she graduated with a BA (Hons) in Sociology and Linguistics from the University of Western England. Subsequently, she attended Goldsmith College, a part of the University of London, and obtained her Post Graduate Certificate of Education in 2008.
Year 6 Leader
Petrina trained at Roehampton University, UK, for a Bachelor of Education degree with a music specialism. She has lived in China since August 2014, with her first three years at The British School of Beijing, Sanlitun; another Nord Anglia Education school. She joined BISS Puxi to build on her experience with STEAM and is now the subject lead for the Primary STEAM Curriculum.
Year 6 Teacher
Jack is passionate about learning and he endeavours to provide all pupils with a rich and enjoyable education. He studied at Bath Spa University and attained his PGCE in 2014. After graduating, Jack taught Year 5 for three years whilst also holding the role of PE Coordinator. With his wife, Rosie, Jack moved to Dubai where he taught in Year 6 and was Key Stage 2 Leader, as well as PE Coordinator. After an enjoyable experience teaching in the Middle East, Jack was delighted to accept the position at BISS Puxi.
Sarah graduated from the University of Manchester, UK, with a BSocSci degree in Sociology. After spending time in Africa, Sarah began her teaching career in a Year 4 classroom in a school in Derby, England, gaining her PGCE through the ‘Teach First’ programme. She held a number of positions of responsibility including Lead Teacher, Year 6 Lead and Science Coordinator. In 2015 Sarah decided to move to London and took on a role a large school in central London, continuing to teach in Year 6, followed by a move in 2017 to Shanghai.
