We would like to extend our welcome to new families who have joined our community after Songkran. Please get in touch if you need any help or would like to get involved In school. You can find out who we are by looking at the PTG page on Moodle and if you have any questions, concerns or suggestions, or if you would like to get involved in what’s going on at school, please send us an email to email@example.com. We’d love to hear from you.
The PTG Summer Party will be held on Friday 15 June 2018 at Viva Thonglor – a fantastic location on Thonglor between soi 19 and soi 21. It is shaping up to be a really great evening again. The STA Jazz Band will be there to get things off to a fantastic start and our resident DJ – DJ Tina – is already compiling a playlist for the evening. We hope to see you all there to celebrate another great year at St Andrews International School Bangkok.
Primary School Canteen Working Group
Thank you to everyone who took the time to complete the Primary Canteen Questionnaire. The working group will be analyzing the responses and we will keep you informed of action as they move forward with Epicure this term.
Lost and Found
Lost and Found at Primary is getting overloaded. We will be organizing a “Reclaim Day” where everything will be made available for you to pass by, have a look at what there is and take anything that is yours. Once this has been done, anything that has been in Lost and Found for longer than 2 months will be given to charity.
New Shuttle Bus service for Primary School
All Primary parents should have received an email announcing the new shuttle bus service from MaxValu on soi Pridi to the Primary School. This new service is part of our school’s ongoing effort to improve efficiency, reduce overall travelling time, and provide alternative parking for Primary School parents to reduce congestion during peak pick-up and drop-off times.
Please take a look at the approximate departure times servicing this car park but also remember that these times are subject to the sometimes unpredictable Bangkok traffic patterns.
If you park for more than 2 hours you will require a stamp which can be collected at the Primary School office .
This new arrangement with MaxValu is an excellent alternative for drivers. There are air-conditioned waiting areas as well as coffee shops and it is not too far from school for them to come and collect you from the drop-off area once you are ready to leave the school grounds. Please encourage your drivers to use this car park rather than waiting in the school car park with their engines idling. Engine idling has been an issue of growing concern for many parents and the PTG has been working closely with school to find solutions to the problem.
Parents’ Activities for Term 3
The end of Term 2 is fast approaching and in preparation for next term the PTG Committee is asking if any parents would be interested in leading any activities for other parents. Activities do not have to be sporting activities. A few examples could be: knitting, painting, music, etc. For reference, ECAs for Term 3 will run for 7 weeks beginning the week of 30 April on the following dates:
- Monday : 30 Apr, 7 May, 14 May, 21 May, 4 June, 11 June, 18 June

- Friday : 4 May, 11 May, 18 May, 25 May, 1 June, 8 June, 15 June
Parents' activities do not have to strictly follow the dates above, but are recommended because other children's activities such as assemblies, performances, and exams may affect your participation.

The parents’ activities is one of the many ways in which the PTG works to strengthen the community here at St Andrews International School Bangkok. If you are new to our school, it is a great way to meet other parents. We are always working to expand the choice of activities available to parents so please don’t hesitate to get in touch if you are interested in participating or would like to run a new club.
As always, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with us if you have any suggestions, questions or concerns. The easiest way to reach us is by email on email@example.com or many of us are around in the mornings both at Primary and High School and you are welcome to have a chat at any time.
