Head's Lines: International Days

I hope everyone in our school community thoroughly enjoyed the long weekend. Hopefully, you also had the chance to review the list of extra-curricular activities (ECA) and sports offerings published via Moodle and begin signing up your children to participate.

ECAs

There is certainly a wide variety of activities on offer for students despite the fact there are less outside providers and off-campus locations than in previous years due to coronavirus restrictions and safeguards. Nevertheless, I feel confident that there will be numerous options available each day for your children to enjoy taking part in if they choose.

International Days

We are very much looking forward to holding our annual International Days this Term. These wonderful community days, held separately at Primary School and High School, are great opportunities to celebrate the wide range of cultures and nationalities that comprise our truly international school. It is a chance for us all to learn a little bit more about each other and the different cultures we come from. And in doing so, make us appreciate and celebrate these differences and commonalities even more. It is a great way for parents, teachers, staff, and of course, our young people to make friends and deepen these relationships as they discover more about each other through the cultural displays and the wonderful delicacies offered from all over the world.

The High School International Day will be on the last day of this half term Friday 9th October. This year the Primary International day will take place over three days with the final day of the food hall taking place on Friday 2nd October. Ultimately, there will be differences this year in how we organise and run this event to ensure that we have as much social distancing as possible and keep everyone in our community safe. Lots more details about how each International Day will be set up and run on each of our campuses will come out from the School and the PTG over the coming weeks. I sincerely hope everyone in our Community will be able to get involved in whatever way is most appropriate for you.

Parent Teacher Group (PTG) Annual General Meeting

The Parent Teacher Group’s AGM is scheduled for Wednesday 9th September at 8:15 am on the 7th floor Exam Room at the Primary School. This meeting presents an opportunity for new members wishing to join the PTG to come forward, while also giving everyone the chance to meet our current group of fantastic volunteers who are already working hard in preparations for our International Days later this term. Obviously, under the present pandemic conditions, plans and how these plans are implemented will have to be thought through very carefully this year. Therefore, it would be great to have as much support and input as possible into organising these great community celebrations.

I hope everyone has a great week!!

School Calendar 2020/2021

Just over a month ago, it was announced that this past Friday 4th September and Monday 7th September would be national holidays to replace those missed during Songkran or the Thai New Year. To compensate for these unexpected holidays, the calendar for 2020-2021 has been updated and is available here.
