Primary and Foundation Stage: Poetry Readings, Magical Hats and Fantasy Animals!

Primary students show off their rhythm on national Poetry Day with magical performances in front of their friends and teachers. Year 1 had a fabulous hat parade using STEM ‘joining’ techniques and materials from home. Finally, see the magical beasts created by Year 6 in their living things topic…

Poetry Readings, Magical Hats and Fantasy Animals!!

This week we look back at some highlights of our VSE learning from the last week before Half-Term. Although we are all very disappointed to not be back in school just yet we are all looking forward to a time when we will be able to learn and teach face to face. As the school had been celebrating National Poetry Day, I thought I would include a poem that looks hopefully to the very near future:

Close the Door
to your past,
Open the door
to your future.
Take a deep breath
and step through
to a new life.

A Brighter Future Ahead - a poem by Sharon Lagueux

VSE Highlights

The week before the Half-term break saw the Primary students here at St Andrews enjoy a Poetry Day. There were many fun activities where students read their favourite poems, wrote their own poems and performed them for their classmates and teachers. Here are a few of the highlights for you to enjoy...

The Year 2 students enjoyed the last day of their half-term by having a wonderful hat parade. They designed and made their own hats using materials from home and joining techniques to create some amazing hats that I’m sure you’ll agree look absolutely fabulous!!

Primary School VSE

In Year 6, the children have been looking at the characteristics of living things as well as how different animals have adapted to their surroundings. The children did a fantastic job of combining different characteristics and adaptations to create their own new animals.
