Head's Lines: The School buzz is back!

It was impressive and reassuring to see how everyone around our School has embraced the safety measures. We will be providing an ECA update soon, and the NAE Parents Survey is closed, results will be out in Term 3.

It has been fantastic to welcome children back to our Primary School and our older students back to High School.  An enthusiastic buzz emanated from across the whole school as everyone once again relished the opportunity to be back in the company of their friends and teachers. The school very much comes alive and everything once again feels right with the world when our classrooms, canteens, libraries and learning spaces are filled with children. There must have been a lot of pent up energy, because it did not take much time at all for teachers to re-engage and refocus students in the type of face-to-face, interactive and collaborative  lessons that truly makes learning at St Andrews so unique.

It was also both impressive and reassuring to see how everyone around the school embraced the responsibility of wearing masks and, where necessary, socially distancing themselves from each other. The fact that this sense of social awareness is reinforced by the practical and necessary tasks of strict daily cleaning and careful disinfection of all areas where children, teaching staff or administration are working gives confidence that our entire community can remain safe, healthy and protected during these challenging times.

Extra-Curricular Activity (ECA) programme

With the physical school now resuming its daily routines and education activities in earnest, the next big threshold to cross is safely launching our amazing ECA programme at each campus. You can expect to receive more information about how this can occur later this week.

Nord Anglia Education (NAE) Parents Survey.
Thank you to everyone who took the time to complete this survey for the betterment of our school.  The window for sharing feedback via this online form closed last Sunday, and the data will be analysed by the NAE Central Team before it being presented back to our school at the start of term 3.

Health & Travel Declaration Form

A debt of gratitude is also owed to our entire community for updating their Health & Travel Declaration Form. By requiring every family to complete this form and, where necessary, following up swiftly with any instances of uncertainty or concern, we were able to meet the strict conditions under which the school was allowed to open. As I mentioned earlier, the level of social awareness and responsibility that our community continues to demonstrate throughout this period fills me with pride, and I hope is reassuring to all of us as parents, teachers and staff as we reopen our campus to students.

It is therefore important that we all continue to rely on this form to provide immediate updates if the health and travel situation of your family members should change. Thank you for continued cooperation and support.

School Calendar
Our school will follow the recently updated school calendar that has been shared with our school community and which is available on our school website. For your convenience, you can find the updated school calendar for 2020-2021 here.
