The Dolphins did really well with practicing their words. Some of them had more than one to learn and we did lots of practicing with saying our lines loudly and clearly, which was excellent practice for their speaking and listening skills. Learning the fun Christmas songs was their favourite! Although it was strange singing ‘We wish you a merry Christmas’ in November! When the costumes arrived, the children were thrilled to dress up as angels and key characters from the nativity; they danced around the classroom as angels and even wanted to learn the other classes’ Christmas songs. The costumes looked amazing and they really added to the overall look of the performance!
We performed the show twice. Once to the children, and another to all of the mummies and daddies. Even though standing on the stage is a daunting prospect for even the teachers, Reception did fantastically well! They all said their lines loudly, clearly and with lots of expression! They remembered when they needed to stand up, sang the songs with great enthusiasm and looked rather cute in their costumes. All of the teachers, children, mummies and daddies loved the performance. The children were so brave and did us all proud! What talented Dolphins I have. The performance definitely got us into the Christmas spirit. I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas break and look forward to even more exciting learning in Dolphins class.
