They had a talk from a member of the National Space Association where they used augmented reality to explore the Mars Rover and ‘meet’ Tim Peak. They also got to make a variety of rockets which they absolutely loved!
The Year 5 children participated in online activities which had them attempting to land a space craft and they got to get creative with dance and our Year 6 children had a ‘survival theme’ which had them working in teams to try pitching a tent as quickly as they could and they learnt, created and performed both a musical composition based on a classical piece of music and an earth themed song.
It was wonderful to have the children interact with the children from Shunyi, all of them had a great day and were buzzing on the journey back to school.
