U9 Boys and Girls

Firstly the boys team of Melvin, Tanner, Sasha, Thomas, Andres, Finn and Kaden powered their way through the tournament with four wins and a draw.

The combination of Melvin, Sasha and Tanner in attack was too much for most of the other teams as the boys won their first three games, 4-0, 3-0, and 7-2.  Maybe feeling too confident they then had a very tough match against Daystar 2 and with another great performance in goal from Thomas and some cool defending by Kaden the team finished with a 2-2 draw.

The final match against Daystar 1 was a high scoring game, but with some excellent teamwork, the team created plenty of chances for our attack and the final result was 6-3.

Tanner was the top scorer for the event with an amazing 12 goals from 5 games.

Well done to all of the boys!

The girls team were equally as impressive with only 2 goals scored against them through the whole tournament!

Naobi, Kaila, Jenny, Tanya, Loopi, Clara, Eilidh and SiSi showed excellent teamwork and determination in every game. They were off to a good start with a 3-0 win and this continued with a 5-0 win, things became a little tougher when it was a close 2-1 game but this only spurred them on for their next game to ensure they won every game!

Kaila demonstrated her power and aim to score lots of goals against the other teams and Jenny was always ready with her jump shot. The defense was strong working together to protect the ‘D’ with fantastic communication. SiSi was an excellent goal keeper ensuring that the opposition struggled to score against her and with a powerful throw down to Kaila they were often able to quickly turn their defense into attack to score.

Well done to all the girls, it was a superb display of teamwork and skill.
