Dear Parents,
Welcome back to school! I trust everyone had a relaxing holiday and have returned to Beijing reenergised and raring to go. I enjoyed a three week summer break in New Zealand with my wife, Hannah. We saw lots of interesting sights, ate great food and enjoyed a local beverage or two! I must admit though, I was looking forward to getting back to school and seeing how the summer building improvements had progressed. I’m pleased to say that the buildings have undergone significant pollution and fire safety upgrades, as well as the classrooms having a refresh. I look forward to sharing these developments with you in the coming weeks. I would encourage you to attend as many of the upcoming events as possible. In particular, I hope to see you at the Meet and Greet event on Thursday 1st September. If you’re keen to get involved with supporting the school further, the Parents’ Association (PA) is a great way to meet new friends and become an active member within our school community. The first meeting is taking place on Tuesday 30th August at 9am in the Primary Campus Hall.
I am also pleased to report that all our new teachers have been making a successful transition to life in Beijing. When the existing staff returned to school too, I knew that we were in for another fantastic year. The team has already hit the ground running and I really feel that we are in a strong and healthy position to continue to drive the success of The British School of Beijing, Sanlitun. As always, my door is open to you.
Kind regards,
David Laird
Principal
