It was a pleasure seeing all the children use their ‘Be Ambitious’ skill of ‘Resilience’, as they tried a variety of multiplication methods. These included using repeat addition, finding a total by grouping, using arrays and solving real life problems using all of these.
When solving multiplication problems from real life, all the Panthers were able to apply the principles of RUCSAC (read, underline, choose the calculation, solve, answer and check).
You can see some of our maths wizards in the photographs attached. We made completing arrays fun by modelling them on characters from books we have read, such as the ‘Smartest Giant in Town’ and the ‘Naughty Bus’. (e.g. 3+3+3 would be three lines of three dots, which equals nine) Well done Panthers!
