First Week at Pre-nursery

In Pre-Nursery this week, we have welcomed our new “Jellyfish” children. Ms. Irena and all the children have had a wonderful week so far engaging in lots of fun learning; the children are beginning to settle into their new environment very well and are enjoying all the wonderful activities we have to offer.

All the children throughout Pre-Nursery have settled well after the Christmas holidays, and we are now preparing to start our new topic of Chinese New Year to see us through until we are off on holidays again.

During our first week back, we have been slowly introducing our Chinese New Year story, the children have begun learning the names of the animals that took part in 'The Great Race'. Today we learned about the Chinese monster called 'Nian' and how the townspeople scared him away using loud noises, the colour red, and fire. We have also been learning vocabulary surrounding the theme of the Chinese restaurant, words such as 'chopsticks', 'spring rolls', 'noodles', 'shrimp' are now being used as the children cook up a storm in our Role Play Chinese Restaurant.  We are very excited to make our 'Hung Bao', in the coming weeks, and show thanks and appreciation by giving them to our families.
