After watching the story of ‘A Whale’s Tale’ the children were inspired to make their own posters reminding other to use the recycling bins in school and which items you can put in them. They even thought to use a piece of scrap paper again instead of a new piece – a great idea to prevent waste.
Then the children were asked to sort the rubbish from the Under the Sea tray to make it a safe and healthy place for the creatures to live. They learnt about which items could be recycled and how food waste can made to compost to grow new plants. They discovered that there are so many things we can recycle instead of throwing away.
We’re on the lookout now for more ways we can help at home and school to reuse, reduce and recycle!
