As it comes to the end of another academic year, I would just like to take a moment to express how proud I am of all the Early Years children. There is nothing that makes me happier than first thing in the morning, seeing your children arrive, at school, with happy faces. Even those who are a little unsure are soon smiling once they are in their classrooms.
It has been a very busy year and the children have had plenty of opportunities to begin or further develop their learning journeys. Whether inside the classroom, in our learning areas or during outdoor learning time, I have seen lots of young children being resilient, independent, collaborative and above all else being extremely kind to one another.
Each week, along with Terry the Dinosaur, I have taken singing and story sessions with the children and we have had so much fun singing our ''Shakey, shakey'' song. I think every child in the Early Years now knows all the words and actions and they have also enjoyed listening to stories that have matched their topics.
Very soon it will be time for children, teachers and teaching assistants to have a little rest. I would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a very lovely summer and I will look forward to seeing you again in August. To those of you who are moving on, I would like to wish your children all the very best at their new schools.
