I began my teaching journey many years ago, having previously worked in private day nurseries and children’s centres. I then went on to study at University College Birmingham for my Degree in teaching, followed by Birmingham City University for my PGCE, where I gained a wealth of knowledge in Early Childhood, which led to my decision to pursue a career as an Early Childhood teacher.
Over the last 6 years, I have been teaching in the UK at a multi-cultural primary school in the inner city of Birmingham, where the majority of the children have English as a second language. During this period, I have been fortunate enough to have worked across all key stages and have gained a wealth of knowledge and expertise teaching in Year 1, Year 3 and Reception. I have a real passion for teaching Key Stage One and Early Years. As an Early Years teacher, the most rewarding aspect is witnessing the great progress children make in their early years of development and learning whilst watching them develop their own personality, traits and talents.
I am very excited to be joining BSB Sanlitun, broadening my horizons and experiencing what life has to offer in China both professionally and personally. Consequently by combining the two, I hope to continue with my other passions, which include cooking, swimming and looking after my health and wellbeing by regularly going to the gym.
I am looking forward to inspiring young minds and making learning fun in an environment where all children thrive and are encouraged to reach their full potential.
