Reception Whales Class Teacher

My love for teaching was sparked when as an undergraduate, I spent a year in Spain. During this period I worked part-time as an English Teacher, teaching children aged between 5 and 11. After graduating from the University of Nottingham in July 2012 with a BA Honours in Spanish and Cultural Studies, I decided to pursue a career as a Primary School Teacher. I obtained my SCITT Primary PGCE (with QTS) and a MA in Education, both from the University of Nottingham.

As a teacher, I have taught Reception, Year 1 and Nursery at the same school in Hertfordshire for over three years. Working with the younger children gives me satisfaction as it builds the foundations for the rest of their school life. My extra-curricular activities mainly revolve around music.

I have travelled widely since childhood and wish to have a spell teaching abroad. To be working at BSB Sanlitun is an exciting and new chapter in my teaching career and will enable me to experience a different lifestyle and culture.

I was born in Lancashire and lived there until I went to university. I play the piano, tenor saxophone and also sing. I enjoy going to the theatre to see musicals and plays. I try to keep fit by going to the gym. Travelling has helped me to experience and respect different cultures, though I am less adventurous when it comes to trying different foods.
