Rebecca Kirkby

Phase 2 Academic Leader, English Subject Leader, Year 2 Alligators Class Teacher

Since graduating from the University of Winchester in 2000, I have had the experience of working right the way through the primary age range. I have worked in a number of schools around Hampshire and Kent. In 2005, I was offered the fantastic opportunity to be a Lead Music Teacher. It was my responsibility to ensure that all children in the 16 schools that I managed were given the chance to learn a musical instrument for free.

I continued my career by working as part of the Senior Leadership Team when I taught in the UK, first as Acting Deputy Headteacher and then Assistant Headteacher leading assessment across the school and throughout the cluster of schools that I was responsible for.

I decided to develop my career by taking an international teaching job which is what brought me to Bratislava in 2012. Here I have enjoyed working within a strong team atmosphere which encourages positive communication between the staff, parents and children. I have also continued to develop professionally by taking on the roles of Assessment Leader, Curriculum Leader and Acting Deputy Head. Since January 2014, I have served as a Nord Anglia teaching Fellow taking responsibility for the professional development of other teachers across the company.
