I have obtained further academic qualifications since my undergraduate degree. I was conferred with a Postgraduate Diploma in Educational Leadership from the National University of Ireland Maynooth in 2014. This aided me when taking on various leadership roles in my school such as becoming a mentor to all newly qualified teachers (NQTs) who began working in the school.
My recent Postgraduate Diploma in Human Resource Management from the Institute of Public Administration (Dublin, 2017) allowed me to link theoretical knowledge of managing an organisation with the experience that I have gained on the school’s Board of Management, which I have served on as staff representative since September 2015. The opportunity to work in an international school is one that greatly appeals to me. Combining this opportunity with the prospect of teaching PE fulltime meant that taking up a position in BSB Sanlitun seems like a perfect fit.
In my spare time I like to keep active. I am a member of a tennis club in Dublin and will continue to play in Beijing. Fitness is very important to me and I make sure I hit the gym a few times a week. I am a huge Liverpool FC fan. I love to travel and have big plans to see all of China and neighbouring countries in the near future.
