Stephen O'Leary

I have worked as primary school teacher since qualifying with a Bachelor of Education from Mary Immaculate College in Limerick, Ireland. In that time I have worked as both a class teacher and learning support teacher in schools in Cork and Dublin.

I have obtained further academic qualifications since my undergraduate degree. I was conferred with a Postgraduate Diploma in Educational Leadership from the National University of Ireland Maynooth in 2014. This aided me when taking on various leadership roles in my school such as becoming a mentor to all newly qualified teachers (NQTs) who began working in the school. I also have received a Postgraduate Diploma in Human Resource Management from the Institute of Public Administration. (Dublin, 2017)

My first year working at BSB Sanlitun has been a dynamic and rewarding experience. I enjoyed leading a team to the inaugural Nord Anglia Global Games China competition in Guangzhou. I have also relished introducing new sports and competitions to the school, such as gymnastics and badminton.

In my spare time I like to keep active. Going to the gym and tennis are all great ways to say fit in Beijing. I am a huge Liverpool FC fan which has meant that I have found myself getting up at 3am to watch live football matches here. I love to travel and living in China has allowed me to explore places that I never dreamed I would visit.
