Girls Basketball Team Kicks Off New Season

Tuesday saw the BISB girls middle school basketball team in their first game of the season. Read for their coach Mr. Carpenter's take on the game.
  • Bulldog Basketball

Playing at home, the girls made a fantastic start, and as the first half closed the girls were really heating up and only trailed by 2 points.

Some attacking defense from the Year 7 girls and powerful plays from the Year 9 girls kept BISB in touch through the start of the second half, all the while being supported by one of the best mascot performances seen at BISB by Bruno the Bulldog.

The Year 7 and Year 8 girls were on fire scoring 6 points, with Year 9 girls bringing it home with 2  points coming from the free throw line in a display of accuracy under pressure.

Management of the scores and official logs was superbly carried out by two Year 10 girls, who carried out their duties confidently despite being novices.

The final score had BISB trailing 18-24, but the message to take away from the game was that this year, BISB has a very competitive team.

Good luck to our middle school girls' as their season continues!
