Chafika

French Teacher for Year 1 - Year 13

I was born and raised in a, bilingual French speaking family. I was always attracted to languages since an early age, showing interest in word constructions and grammar. After graduating from High School, specializing in Literature and Foreign Languages, I went to college to deeply study French. I obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Literary Research, Didactics and Linguistics. I then taught French as a mother tongue, second language and a foreign language at Sibawaih Language School, a private school in Oran, Algeria. When I arrived in the United States with my husband, I taught French as a Foreign Language and as a mother tongue in two different French institutions before joining The British International School of Boston in 2017.

I have taught students from 3 to 18 years old in Pre-School, Elementary, Middle and High School. It has been amazing to see my students’ progress from reading initiation to fluent conversations.

During my free time, I like going to the Opera, movie theater or simply just enjoying some music. I try not to miss interesting exhibitions in museums and most of all I love spending time with my family. I also do some craft and gold string embroideries. I have a strong passion for history and memories and try to value each moment taking notes, collecting pictures and scrap-booking.

At BISB, I like the welcoming members and love the school’s atmosphere and philosophy in challenging students and their ambitions.
