We are pleased with the success of our term 1 After School Child Care scheme and are delighted to announce that it will continue into term 2. With a new lower cost, why not take advantage of our three day trial to get a feel for the benefits. Contact Lily Vereczkey lili.vereczkey@bisb.hu to find out more or to reserve your place.

Why are we doing this?

Children have busy, active and tiring days at BISB and at the end of these challenging days children do need time to relax. Whilst it is best if this happens in a child’s own home, we appreciate that collection from school at the end of the day can be challenging, especially for working parents.

How does it work?

Families who are part of the pilot scheme will be asked to sign up for how many after school child care places they require. Each place is interchangeable for children that belong to the same family, living at the same address. For example, in the case of a family who has two children in BISB, if one child (child A) is in a CCA on Monday, your other child (child B) can use the after school child care place. On Tuesday, if child B is in a CCA, then child A can utilise the place. If both children require a place together on one day, then you must book places for each child for the full term. The after school child care places will operate on a ‘club membership’ system, once you have secured a place, it can be used anything from one to five nights a week for the same cost.

What will the children do?

Children will be supervised by three members of staff during after school child care. They will be provided with a small healthy snack and given the opportunity to take part in a range of activities on the school grounds, ranging from arts and crafts and time in the playground to playing sport.

Will my child be supervised to do their homework during this time?

The after school child care is designed for the children to relax and socially interact with others. With a range of children from Early Years to Year 6, we will not be able to support children completing their homework, but can provide support with their reading or quiet time to work independently on homework should they wish. Homework is designed to encourage children to be independent, to retain knowledge from school and enable parents to experience the content of some of their child’s learning.

When will it take place?

It will start on January 6th and run every school day until April 8th. The after school child care is open from the end of the school day. The last collection must be before 17.30.

Who is eligible?

All children from Early Years to Year 6.

How many places can I book?

One after school child care place permits one child per night. If you have two or more children who require a secure place, then you are required to book a place for each additional child.

Is it possible to book one night a week?

The system is designed to be as flexible as possible but we do have some safety and operational constraints we would like to manage. As noted before, the after school child care will operate on a ‘club membership’ system that can be used from anything from one to five nights a week for the same cost.

My child goes home on the bus, can we still use the bus service?

Yes, if you already have an agreement with Junior Bus, your child can return home using their late bus service.

If my child goes to a CCA, can they join the club afterwards?

Yes, if the after school child care place is not being used by another member of the family.  If you feel this could be an issue, it is possible to buy two after school child care places for the duration of the pilot.

How many places are available for Term 2?

There are just 12 spaces available. These will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.

How much does it cost?

192,000 HUF per child place.

How do I sign up?

Please register your interest by emailing lili.vereczkey@bisb.hu.

Any questions, please do feel free to ask.

Kindest regards,

Mr Russell
