Greetings from BISC! This week, we began the temporary transition to distant learning, and the feedback we are receiving from students and staff is very positive. I am so incredibly proud of the way all of our teachers and support staff have stepped up to the challenge and made it work, even after a short period of time in preparation. A special mention must also go out to you: Our parents at home, who have been wonderful in supporting our teachers and your children to make distant learning work for everyone. For many of you, this is a major juggling act, supporting more than one child learning – whilst managing the home and work at the same time. Thank you all.
There will be more of the same until we are able to open the school again. In the meantime, we would love to receive photos, videos or just examples of our students learning remotely. I received a truly adorable video of one of our youngest learners doing Wake-up, Shake-up while their teacher led the session via video conference. Please keep the home learning footage coming!
This week has taught me the following: In extraordinary times, extraordinary people become extraordinarily creative.
…And that word perfectly encapsulates our school community: Extraordinary.
