As part of the Eco Council’s drive to help make BISC Lincoln Park more sustainable, we have worked with Jonathan at Healthy Soil Compost to introduce green composting bins around campus. These will help to reduce our food waste at school, with all leftover food scraps being placed in the bins to then be composted which can then be used to grow other plants. Children in Foundation Stage have been given a worm composter to recycle their snack scraps and there is even a composting bin in the staff room for teachers. Working together to think about how we can reduce our food waste is a great way to make sure that our school is helping to look after the environment. If you see a green bin at BISC-LP, please feel free to add your own food waste to our composting efforts! Learn more about Health Soil Compost here.
