In this week's Beyond the Classroom blog, we are featuring multiple successes by our students. Our first success comes from Adam E.

Adam recently competed in the White Tiger Martial Arts Open Tae Kwon Do Championship in Palatine, IL on March 10. This was his first competition, but that didn’t stop him from putting forth his best effort. Adam won 1st place in sparring and 2nd place in board breaking for his division. Well done Adam!

Our second success comes from our BISC-LP chess team! Several of our students competed in the K-8 Chess State Tournament on March 8.

BISC-LP had one team in the Elementary division (grades 4-5) and placed 17 out of 23 school teams. Next year, they hope to have the numbers for a full team (4 players or more) in every division. Congrats to Franklin G. who placed in 4th out of 62 players and Abhi M. placed 5th out of 123 players! Great job to all students who competed in the tournament!
