I hope you all made the most of the long weekend and are enjoying the last of the summer weather. Today I have the pleasure of writing my first entry for the BISC-LP weekly blog in my new role as Assistant Head for Academics. As Head of Year 5 last year, I have gotten to know many of you, but this is a way for me to introduce myself to those of you who I have not yet had the opportunity to meet.
My role at BISC-LP is to work with our amazing staff to make learning and teaching the very best it can be. In my year here, I have been inspired by the passion exuded by my colleagues to create a warm, welcoming and learning-focused environment; as a community we are continuously evolving and striving to provide the best education for our children.
I have been a teacher for 11 years and in that time I have been fortunate enough to work in a variety of international settings including the UK, Taiwan, Ethiopia, Malaysia and now the USA, and lead a broad range of subjects and teams; however, taking responsibility for the academics across a school is my dream job and an opportunity I am both excited about and committed to wholeheartedly. I am a passionate educator and love learning in all its forms – I believe that supporting children to be globally minded, compassionate, lifelong learners and responsible citizens of the future is the most important job anyone can do.
BISC-LP is a unique school where a tremendous sense of community has been forged. It is, overwhelmingly, a warm and welcoming place and has come to feel very much like a home for me. I look forward to meeting those of you who I have not yet had the chance to, and supporting our community to provide the best learning experiences possible for our students.
