I graduated with a B. ED in Primary Education in 2012 from Glasgow University in Scotland. I taught in Scotland for 2 years before starting my international teaching experience as part of the founding team at Nord Anglia Education, Dubai. During my time there, I worked as a class teacher, before gaining an MSc in psychology from Manchester Metropolitan University and becoming Leader of Personalized learning for the Primary sector.
Following my time in Dubai, I spent a year in Scotland, focusing on the development of social, emotional and behavioral needs that impacted the academic progress of the diverse range of pupils within my care. I am thrilled to have joined the team at British International School of Chicago, Lincoln Park in 2019. It is such a wonderful feeling being part of a vibrant international community of learners and educators. The school really embraces the same philosophies of teaching that underpin my practice. Learning is personalized to each student’s interests and learning style. With a focus on their individual learning journeys, I aim to provide a learning environment that fosters a sense of security and equips children with the tools and opportunities to develop a sense of self belief and break down any barriers to learning. They should feel comfortable, resilient and optimistic to overcome any challenges they face.
