I am originally from Milton Keynes in the South of England but studied for my degree at the University of Nottingham. Before joining British International School of Chicago - Lincoln Park, I taught in Birmingham as part of the Teach First program. I have also lived in France for a number of years. I love to paint and my favorite place to visit in Chicago is the Art Institute. I also love spending time at the lake and exploring all the amazing buildings in the city. My favorite place to take visitors is Lincoln Park Zoo to see the incredible view of the skyline.
I strongly believe that it is the challenge and creativity of studying languages that make them so exciting. My job is not to simply tell students what words mean in French but to allow them to decipher, to apply patterns and to play around with words in order to convey and understand meaning. Languages push students to be creative with what they know. Students are constantly surprising me with how they use French creatively to communicate.
