Year 5 Leader

I am so excited to begin my seventh year at BISC-LP as part of team Year 5. Before joining BISC-LP, I studied French and History at the University of Nottingham before training as a teacher at Warwick University as part of the Teach First program. In my spare time, I love to paint, read, and travel as much as possible- since moving to the US, my favorite travels have been to Alaska, Argentina and Yellowstone. My favorite place in Chicago has to be the Art institute but I usually spend most of my time- and money- in the amazing restaurants. I am really looking forward to a great year of learning with my class. I believe that creativity and challenge help our students get better every day because they give a child the freedom to explore new skills and the chance to surprise themselves and others. Too often, children- and adults- have ceilings constructed above them through labels or expectations. However, by opening up the curriculum with creativity and challenge, we give each child the chance to do the unexpected.
