Speech & Language Therapist

I grew up in the North East of England. I moved to London to study nursing. After graduating, I worked in a number of hospitals as an accident and emergency nurse. Then I decided to make a career change, qualifying as a Pediatric Speech & Language Pathologist in Manchester, England. I moved to Chicago in 2012 with my family. I have two teenage sons, who love sports, so I am definitely the ultimate ‘soccer mom’!

I have worked in a variety of pediatric settings, with my caseload ranging from premature babies with feeding difficulties, to secondary aged children with learning difficulties. At BISC-LP, I have loved being in the Determined Dragonflies and getting to know and support the children across all year groups. I work with children who need language, communication or literacy support, as well as providing advice regarding children with speech sound errors. This might be consultative, in small or individual sessions or within the class setting. I look forward to continuing to support our children and the staff, as well as collaborating closely with the external therapist some of children see outside of school.
