On Wednesday, January 14, we will be hosting an IB information evening titled "The Collegiate Advantages of the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program." This event will provide valuable information on how university admissions departments perceive the value of the IB program and how to navigate the college application process.
In attendance at the event will be The International Baccalaureate® (IB) employee Rachelle Bernadel. Rachelle is the University Relations Administrator at IB Americas, based in Bethesda, MD. In this role she works closely with universities to help establish strong IB recognition policies for graduates; her work is primarily focused in the US, with some ties to Canadian universities. Rachelle also cultivates relationships with IB school counselors to help provide them with information that will be useful as they work with their students through the admissions process. As a graduate of the Diploma Programme, she is a strong advocate for IB students and their post secondary success.
The talk will cover the following topics:
- How is the value of an IB education perceived?
- IB Recognition at the university level
- Scholarships for IB students
- IB Students: Where are they sending transcripts?
- Diploma Impact Research
- IB Myth Busters
There will also be a Q&A session featuring Rachelle and key BSC staff members.
