Music
Reception children took their musical learning outside today and performed an ostinato on instruments of their choice!
Science
Year 3 have been excited to start their new topic on magnets. They have enjoyed finding out about the characteristics of magnets and that they can both repel and attract different materials. The children learned which materials are attracted to a magnet and were surprised to find out that not all metals were attracted to the magnet. They went on to investigate different types of magnets, in particular magnets of different sizes, in order to find out which was the strongest. Next week the children will explore the uses of magnets and go on to make their own magnetic game applying what they learned about characteristics and properties of magnets.
Language
In Reception we are learning to name body parts in French. We have been singing the well known French song 'Alouette, Gentille Alouette' (naming bird body parts) and the song is now stuck in the children's head. Year 1 children have been playing a game to practice talking about their daily routine in French!
PE
Starting their new topic of Games for Understanding: Net/Court Games, Year 5 have been developing their backhand and forehand badminton serves.

This week in Dance, Year 3 have been learning about sequencing a dance. We used the virtual dance studio program to select beginning, middle and ends of our dances and were able to select music and watch our finished products. You can make your own here!
