Chinese teachers ran a drawing competition, open to all students in the school to draw their best Year of the Dog picture. The submissions are currently being displayed in the schools atrium. The library also held a competition to name all of the famous cartoon dogs that are displayed in the library windows in return for a sweet treat. It was a fun opportunity for students to practice their research skills. The biggest celebration, on Friday 9th February, was the school dress-up day and Chinese New Year Show, organised by the schools Chinese teachers and music teachers. Students, teachers, parents, and visiting entertainers performed song and dance acts, filling the auditorium with energy.Parents sang a song about their love for China, teachers sang a funny song about their struggle to communicate, students sang and played traditional instruments, a happy chef made what looked impossible possible, a contortionist balanced and contorted, and a man in a suit made cooked rice by magic. It was a great end to the lunar year. Xn Nin Kui L! ! (Happy New Year!)
