Message from Music

The new school year has barely begun and music is getting noticed…

‘Music in the BSN Community’ took off two weeks ago with our ‘Community Orchestra’ as they settled into rehearsals. They practice Tuesdays after school and led by Music Teacher / Director Timo Mcvey. They are keen to develop and expand their growing ensemble which consist of a range of students from lower Primary through to adult. Timo is once again excited to be working on various styles of repertoire with them, as they work towards their first performance at the up and coming UN Day on Friday 25 October, so watch this space!

Alongside the Orchestra begun our ALL NEW Community Jazz Band (see photo below) which has struck a chord and a diverse range of interest from various music students, staff and parents of the community. Last Monday after school they begun rehearsals with their Teacher/Director Lee Holt (Head of Music) and are equally excited to be developing jazz repertoire for both instrumentalists and singing talents. They should be wowing our community with up and coming performances soon, so keep an ear out for them!
