Reception A have been settling into class and learning about friendships, people who help us and classroom rules. They have already learnt so much in such a short time. They have learnt phonics sounds m,a,s,t,p,n,I,g, learnt how to use these sounds to read words, read and discussed some lovely books, talked about ourselves and their friends.
The children have been learning to count to 20 and add simple groups of objects together. In addition to their practical maths work they have started to learn all about number bonds to 10 using songs and games. So much learning in so many fun ways, working together as a team and building friendships within the class.
In Reception B the children have been settling into their school and classroom routines smoothly. In class the children are learning to carry out daily routines independently.
They have started their first unit “Can we be friends?” In this unit the children begin to learn and understand the dynamics of friendship. In school they have been utilizing the school’s outdoor spaces. The children have also been going to the valley and using our amazing Early Years playground to continue with their learning.
