Nord Anglia Model United Nations Senior Conference

On Friday the 26th of February, a small group of older students took on new roles as they became delegates in the Nord Anglia Model United Nations Senior Conference.

With restrictions still in place across the country, the conference was held virtually with students turning the 2nd floor meeting room into a temporary United Nations HQ in Nanjing! Students met with others from Nord Anglia schools across China in Microsoft Teams to discuss important global issues.

Despite some students having had previous Model United Nations experiences, visiting schools in China and beyond, this virtual conference was a new experience for all. Prior to the conference, the delegates researched, discussed and formulated their resolutions to ensure that they came well-prepared to take on active roles in the debates and the in the finding of solutions for their given topics. This preparation was time well spent, since students from BSN were recognised in the awards given at the end of the conference, including the Best Delegate Award, given to Lucas in Year 12.

This was a hugely enjoyable and important experience, with delegates branding the virtual conference a success. We look forward to attending other conferences in the near future – whether online or in person!
