We are having another super week at MK Primary. It all started with our International Breakfast on Saturday. Thirty-two countries from around the world were represented and students, teachers and parents enjoyed sampling foods, participating in traditional activities and listening to songs with a global theme throughout the morning. Thank you to all of those involved in making the event a great success!
Continuing with the international theme, our students have been celebrating their ‘home’ country, learning about Qatar and another country represented in our school community. Students will be sharing their learning as part of our International Learning Showcase on Thursday morning, which will kick off with a parade on the playground at 7:30 am before moving into classrooms until 9:00 am. We look forward to seeing many of you then.
Today saw our Qatar National Day celebrations. It started with a fantastic assembly led by our Arabic students. Many thanks to Mrs Enaam, Mrs Sahar and Ms Somaia for their hard work ensuring this was a success. Students also had the opportunity to sample traditional dishes and drinks, and marvel at the falcons and camels that visited the school.
The Autumn Term reports will be released to students on Wednesday, at 1:30 pm. If your child is absent on Wednesday, their report will be kept with Mrs Williams at reception.
Please be reminded that Uniform Mart is now fully stocked and we encourage you to visit ahead of the start of the Spring Term to purchase any necessary items. The expectation is that all students will be dressed in correct uniform, which includes black shoes and the school sweater or fleece during cooler weather. Class teachers will be reminding students about this and we appreciate your support in advance.
Spring Term ECAs
Sign up for our Spring Term ECAs will begin on Wednesday, 13 December. We have a new online system – please refer to the earlier email for details. Thanks to the input from the Primary Student Council, we feel that there is a broad offering of activities for all ages.
We had great attendance at our Primary Parent Workshops this term, including last week’s ‘Assessment and Reporting‘ session. These will continue next term and we welcome your suggestions, please direct them to firstname.lastname@example.org
Have a wonderful week and even better winter break! We look forward to welcoming you back in the New Year.
