Early Years ‘Little Lost Kitten’
The play links to the Early Years 2 IPC topics ‘Animals’ and ‘Changes’ with a focus on weather.
Winter has arrived with frost and ice and the Kitten Family are snug inside their home. Suddenly it all changes as one kitten runs out into the night and Mother Cat goes looking for him. She meets mice, dogs, hedgehogs and ducks during her searching before she is finally reunited with her lost kitten.
Early Years stole the show in the Music Assembly with their cute animal outfits and singing. Each class represented an animal from the story and sang their own animal song.
The narration was provided by pupils from Year and the drama by five pupils from Year 2. Maryam the Mother Cat had an amazing singing voice.
This year the music assembly focused wholly on pupils who have instrumental tuition and the music ECA’s after school. The assembly began with a specially written welcome song in 3 parts sung by the whole school, ‘Good Morning and Welcome’
Piano and violin performers were grouped by their progression from having one term of lessons to over two years and performing Grade 2 level. Each of the 3 music ECAs performed an item: Singing and Percussion EY2-Y2; Beginner guitars ECA; Disney Glee. The assembly closed with the Rayyan School Song ‘We are One’.
