Chronological Reports, Gharaffa Year 6GB

  • Chronological Reports

This week Class 6GB have been learning about the features of biographies and writing biographies as part of our English Unit, Chronological Reports. The children learned that biographies are written in chronological order, that they can contain subheadings and that sometimes they may have family trees or timelines. The children wrote a biography about John D Rockefeller, the famous oil tycoon, to link their learning with their IPC topic, Black Gold.

We also learned about another type of Chronological Report; interviews. The children were tasked with interviewing someone from their family or a neighbour. They then had to bring the information they learned to class and write a biography about them. We had lots of interesting biographies and I am sure the children heard some interesting and unforgettable stories from their parents and their neighbours.
