Thank you to all our wonderful parents and staff who have donated to our Friends of Compass Food Drive. Please keep donations flooding in. We are looking forward to creating food and toiletry hampers in order to show our appreciation to our security and maintenance team.
Green was the theme on Monday as the school celebrated Eco Day. The children excitedly discussed recycling and upcycling with me as they informed me of some of their day’s activities in my classroom walkabout. Year 2’s bubble makers were very interesting. I was sceptical at first but the children managed to persuade me that the netting they had cleverly positioned at the base of a plastic water bottle would construct a perfect bubble. Other children created art work, games and useful objects out of recycled material from home. It was a fun and very informative day.
Our new school uniform is now being modelled on mannequins which are housed in our reception area. Please pop in to take a look. We have had so many positive comments about the style and quality. The school uniform will be phased in next year. Parents will have the opportunity to purchase uniform online or by visiting uniform mart stores which will be located in Gharaffa and on Salwa road. More information will follow. Whilst thinking about uniform, please remember that black shoes must be worn by all children from September.
Next week is our Year 6 leavers’ assembly. We are looking forward to seeing our Year 6 parents at this event.
Parents, the school is currently looking for a Swim Coach. If you know of a qualified swim teacher who would be able to work fulltime from September could you please ask that they contact the school as soon as possible.
A quick reminder that children do need to be collected on time. The current finish time is 1pm. Thank you for your support.
Have a lovely weekend.
